 Heather Rae, principal of brae, has more than 18 years of management, marketing and technical expertise in the energy services, telecommunications and information systems industries. As a market manager in segmentation and program management with Xcel Energy, Ms. Rae oversaw marketing of a demand-side management program and participated in development of new energy and cleantech opportunities. At Qwest Communications, she managed a successful creative marketing team responsible for branding and customer satisfaction, and she was awarded for creating seminal marketing collateral.
Ms. Rae has international-oriented marketing and communications background. After assisting publication of multi-lingual communications materials for several UN sustainability conferences (on population, fisheries, women's rights and climate) and reporting on sustainability meetings at the World Bank, the State Department and other organizations such as Resources for the Future, in 1994, Ms. Rae traveled to Bolivia to research family planning information dissemination.
Ms. Rae graduated from Wesleyan University with a major in Latin American Studies and from Phillips Exeter Academy -- where she was the president of the outdoor club. She also attended Wellesley College and study programs in Madrid, Spain and Bogota, Colombia. Prior to settling in Colorado, she lived in New York City, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Washington, DC. She is certified in high performance residential building (GreenAdvantageTM) and co-director of Colorado's Interfaith Power & Light.
